Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Introduction
Blithz IQ Test ("we", "our", "us") provides a computer-based testing and exam-management platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you visit our website, create an account, take tests, subscribe to plans, or use our chatbot and support features. By using the platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information we receive from organisations you belong to:
- Account details — your name, username, email address, phone number, and a securely hashed password.
- Profile & educational details — your school affiliation, class/level, student ID number, nationality, address, and, for student accounts, parent or guardian names and contact details.
- Testing data — test sessions, answers submitted, results, performance analytics, and leaderboard entries.
- Subscription & payment data — the plans you purchase, payment amounts and status. Payment transactions are processed by trusted third-party providers (Paystack, PayPal); we do not store your card or bank account numbers.
- Affiliate data — your referral code, referral activity, commissions earned, and withdrawal details if you participate in our affiliate program.
- Chat & contact data — your name, email, phone number, and the contents of messages sent through our chat assistant or support channels.
- Newsletter & lead data — your email address and the source from which you signed up (e.g., website form).
- Technical data — your IP address, device and browser information, and usage patterns collected automatically.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your logins.
- To administer tests, record answers, compute results, and generate performance reports.
- To process subscriptions, payments, and affiliate commissions.
- To send service updates, exam reminders, receipts, and security notifications.
- To provide support through our chat assistant and help desk.
- To protect the platform and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:
- Your school or organisation — when you use an account linked to a school, that school's authorised administrators may access your testing data and results for academic purposes.
- Payment processors — Paystack and PayPal receive necessary billing details to complete transactions.
- Service providers — trusted vendors that help us host, maintain, analyse, and deliver the platform (e.g., hosting providers, email services), bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, court order, or governmental request, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as chat widget preferences), and understand how the platform is used. "Remember me" functionality stores an authenticated session for your convenience. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; however, some platform features may not work correctly without them.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard your information, including hashing of passwords, encrypted connections (HTTPS), rate limiting, and restricted access controls. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we work diligently to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the services, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it in a secure manner.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Export or port your data where applicable.
- Withdraw consent for communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.
9. Children's Privacy
Our platform is designed for students, sometimes under the age of consent. Where a student account is created, we rely on the authorisation of the student's parent, guardian, or the enrolling school. Parents and guardians may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information by contacting us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Whenever we make material changes, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, where practical, notify you through the platform or by email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
